Galdr 2.13 is in final testing. Downloads open as soon as the signed build passes its release checks.
Talk, drop a file, or record the meeting.
Galdr lives in your menu bar and turns audio into text with a speech model that runs on your Mac.
Dictate anywhere
Press your hotkey and speak — for up to 15 minutes at a time. With your permission, Galdr puts the text back into the app you started in; otherwise it’s on the clipboard, ready to paste.
- Messages, notes, documents, prompts
- Your own words for names and jargon (Custom Terms)
- Your own replacement rules
Transcribe files
Drop an audio or video file on the menu bar icon — or a whole stack of them. Galdr works through them one after another and keeps every result in your history.
- Interviews, lectures, voice memos
- A failed file never stops the rest
- Nothing is uploaded to a transcription service
Record meetings
Choose the app or screen to capture in Apple’s picker, add your microphone, and record up to three hours. Your voice is labelled You; the other side is split into speakers.
- No bot joins your call
- Echo from your speakers removed afterwards; both sides at the same loudness
- Rename speakers any time
- An interrupted recording can be recovered
From a long call to what was decided.
Galdr keeps the full transcript, and on top of it gives you what you actually need next.
Summaries you can check
An overview, each topic with its key points and who made them, the decisions, and the action items with owners and deadlines. Tasks and decisions are only kept when the words behind them are in the transcript, and every item plays the moment it came up.
Translation, side by side
Read a meeting next to its translation, row by row, translate just one line, or the summary into several languages — with Apple Translation on your Mac.
Clean Up
Remove the “um”s, false starts, and repeated words, and fix punctuation, with Apple Intelligence on your Mac. The original is always kept.
Export anywhere
Plain text, Markdown, PDF, Word, or SRT and WebVTT subtitles — with the summary on top, in the translation’s language too.
Summaries are written by a local model you download once, with an economy mode for a cooler, quieter Mac.
Your audio and transcripts never leave your Mac.
Speech recognition, speaker separation, cleanup, translation, and summaries all run on your Mac. There is no Galdr account and no cloud processing.
- No account, no sign-in
- No analytics or crash reporter in the app — or on this site
- Works offline once the models are on your Mac
- History is stored locally, in a folder you can choose
When Galdr uses the network
Only for things that carry none of your content:
- Downloading a model — only when you click Download
- Checking for app updates (you can turn this off)
- Activating and checking your license key — the key, an activation ID, and your Mac’s name

Good to know.
Does Galdr work offline?
Yes. After the models are downloaded, dictation, file transcription, meetings, summaries, and your history all work without a connection.
Which languages does it understand?
The speech model covers English and many European languages, including Spanish, German, French, Italian, Portuguese, Russian, and Ukrainian. Translation and Clean Up depend on the languages Apple supports on your Mac.
Does anything join my call?
No. Galdr records only the app or screen you pick in Apple’s picker, plus your microphone if you add it. Nobody on the call sees Galdr.
How accurate are the summaries?
They’re written by a small local model, so a detail can be off. Galdr checks what it can: who made a point comes from the transcript line it was said in, and a task or decision is only kept when its words are actually in the recording. And every item plays its moment — one click and you can check it.
What happens when the trial ends?
Starting new dictations, file transcriptions, and recordings needs a license. Everything you already made stays readable, searchable, and exportable.
Is it really a one-time purchase?
Yes. There is no subscription. One purchase gives you a license key for up to three of your Macs, with lifetime updates. Everything Galdr does on your Mac is part of that purchase — for good.
Can I get a refund?
The 14-day trial is there so you can try everything first, so purchases are final. We do refund a duplicate charge, a license key that never works, or a defect we can’t fix — see the refund terms, or write to support@galdr.pro.
